Adopt An Ancestor Doll - "Dilaw"

$177.77

This is a one-of-a-kind vintage, handmade doll from the Philippines. “Dilaw” means yellow and is a word associated with joy and warmth. “Dilaw” wears a beautiful formal, colonial Maria Clara gown. She has some tea stains on her fabric skin but her face remains clear and beautiful. This doll was purchased in the Philippines in the 1970s.

There are many Southeast Asian indigenous people and Filipina communities in California. Due to the diaspora, capitalism, and racism few people of certain generations pray to their ancestors. There are many wandering dead who hope to be remembered or interact with the living. Ancestors offer protection and can help you achieve your goals. The new owner of “Dilaw” will develop a close relationship with a forgotten feminine spirit. “Dilaw” is a kind, wandering soul, whose last life was lived as an immigrant in California. She will reveal her true name to you.

Trinidad consecrated this beautiful collector’s doll using a family folk ritual in the Dragon Mountain monastery in California and the hills of the Tamien people.
